We are currently seeking a qualified and highly motivated Vietnamese national candidate to serve as Senior Technical Specialist for the Better Health Programme, based in Hanoi.
The Better Health Programme (BHP) Vietnam is a 3.5-year programme funded by the UK Government’s Prosperity Fund and aims to reduce non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in Vietnam by improving access to safe, quality care using equitable, ethical and sustainable approaches. The programme will accomplish this through the implementation of a set of activities in the following areas: 1) Strategies to Counter NCDs; 2) Education and Training; and 3) Provider Performance Improvement. Under the direction of the Country Technical Lead (CTL), the Senior Technical Specialist will play a key role in planning, coordinating programme activities to ensure effective delivery of the BHP Programme in Vietnam.
- Provide programme management support such as troubleshooting, updating work plans, and coordinating and monitoring program activities;
- Coordinates engagements with government and other stakeholders in developing and implementing work packages;
- Collects, compiles and analyzes program data and the routine application of data to continuous quality improvement of activities;
- Facilitate relevant program evaluation and local adoption of those demonstrated to add value to the government of Vietnam health system;
- Supports the CTL administratively and technically to produce high quality reports and other programme documents for submission to client;
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses and summary reports and document lessons learned;
- Works with CTL and assists with developing budgets, coordinating consultants, programme materials and information;
- Provides necessary logistical and programmatic preparations and documenting; and
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the CTL.
- Must have at least eight years of relevant experience in the health sector (preferred experience working with NCDs) and demonstrated understanding of the health system in Vietnam;
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency or private organization;
- Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others;
- Strong organizational and programme management skills;
- Demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality programme reports and other programme-related materials;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both English and Vietnamese, orally and in writing;
- Computer literate with strong skills in use of MS office package (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
