The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a temporary Youth Market Coordinator in Gulfport, MS

This position will partner with our current School Fundraising professional and travel to various schools to promote our Kids Heart Challenge fundraising program through Heart Healthy Presentations, Planning Meetings with registered schools and provide superior customer service to schools, sponsors, customers, volunteers and donors by providing professional and friendly assistance within best practice guidelines, with proactive resolution of issues or needs. The Coordinator will be required to travel within the Gulf Coast, MS territory to visit participating schools.

Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years of outside sales or fundraising experience
  • Experience in K-12 school sales or fundraising, educational sales
  • Knowledge of school market, a plus
  • Strong cold-calling, relationship building and customer service skills
  • Highly effective organizational, multitasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work up to 35 hours per week.
  • Recruit and manage K-12 school accounts to participate in Kids Heart Challenge within the assigned geographic territory.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned school territory and work with various school systems to promote events during morning/afternoon school assemblies.
  • Recruit, train, coach and motivate volunteers in Youth Market products and services.
  • Ability to form relationships and establish rapport with audiences of all levels.
  • Build strong relationships with volunteers including school districts, principals, teachers and parent-teacher associations through outstanding customer service
  • Ability to conduct school assemblies to inspire and engage students to participate.
  • Ability to successfully bring a strong work ethic and passion to the work of the organization.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle and work with youth.
  • Satisfactory background checks including motor vehicle and criminal history.
