Responsible for the creation of all content across multiple platforms in support of Heart of West Michigan United Way’s mission, vision and community impact to deliver “the voice” of United Way. Following the tone of voice brand standards.
Areas of Responsibility:
Marketing Technology Management
- Leads the implementation and deployment process for marketing technology solutions
- Develops data architecture strategies (schemas and data extensions)
- Utilizes A/B Testing and monitors performance, using analytics to make data driven decisions
- Develops templates that encourage the use of dynamic content
Influencer Marketing
- Utilize active listening to understand the priorities of a market segment and/or company
- Identify market segments within a company and analyze conversion rates based on sender and content
- Build trust with, and facilitate the work of, HR, IT, and Campaign leaders within key corporate partners to drive forward our communication plans
Digital Journeys and Automations (rather than “digital marketing campaigns”)
- Creates system processes for triggering donor, volunteer, and lead journeys and automations
- Identifies key donor and volunteer market segments
- Creates personas
Content Strategy Development
- Collaborates with RD, Data Center, Volunteer Center, and Marketing team to develop content specific to fundraising, volunteerism, and stewardship
- Works with data center on capturing and architecting donor and volunteer data
- Leads the strategic direction around digital fundraising and fundraising communications
- Identifies opportunities for frame messaging differently for identified segments and/or persona to increase engagement
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Communications, Marketing, New Media or Journalism preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud and/or other automation software.
- Excellent writing, editing, presentation and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience with digital marketing campaigns, automation, journeys and analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate well with others at all levels of organizational hierarchy.
- Excellent organization, project management and time-budgeting skills to manage multiple, deadline-sensitive projects with ease and attention to detail.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Moderate level of physical activity during campaign season.
- Ability to lift, carry, move up to 25lbs.
- Requires extensive periods of time at a computer.
- Work outside of normal business hours will be required from time to time.
