POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 75,000 guests annually, as well as Camp Chief Ouray, a children’s resident camp, serving more than 2,200 campers annually. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of the day-to-day operations of Snow Mountain Ranch, including Camp Chief Ouray, and supervising/managing its team of department heads.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Build, lead and supervise an effective team of department heads to instill an environment at the center where all employees exhibit the core values of the Association on a daily basis.
- Manage the Snow Mountain Ranch operations while creating a desirable culture for guests and staff.
- Develop and implement annual center budget and goals in collaboration with department heads.
- Participate as part of the Association’s leadership team and represent the center to the YMCA Board of Directors.
- Lead Snow Mountain Ranch’s response to significant events that arise on a daily basis through collaborative leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making
- Represent Snow Mountain Ranch and YMCA of the Rockies to various stakeholders including the broader Grand county community, guests, donors, and the Board of Directors.
- Actively maintain positive donor and member relations. Help to identify and develop potential donors.
- Advocate for Snow Mountain Ranch through active participation in the development, implementation, and accountability of long-range planning and goals for the center and the Association.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders including, but not limited to, those in business, church, nonprofit and government.
- Maintain high levels of guest and camper service and programming to ensure Mission delivery to our members, families, groups, youth, staff, and volunteers.
- Maintain high levels of staff experience to retain employees and meet operational objectives.
- Plan, prioritize, and oversee capital building projects.
- Negotiate agreements with outside concessionaires for the center, subject to approval by COO or CFO.
- Direct safety program and procedures at the center to provide a safe experience for guests, campers, staff and volunteers.
- Serve as staff co-liaison for Buildings & Grounds, Land Use Committee of the Board of Directors.

- Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of fifteen years management experience in YMCA, camping or conference center operations, and/or overnight camping,
- Experience in the hospitality industry managing a hotel/resort preferred.
- Possess (or actively seek) and maintain Organizational Leader certification through the YMCA of the USA.
- Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
- Possess stamina to work in the environment described herein.
- Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE & BENEFITS
This is a full-time, year-round, salary position paying $124,000 – $160,000/year, with full benefits including:
