This position is located at United Way for Clinton County in Frankfort, IN. The AmeriCorps member will assist in collaborating with community and human service organizations to engage the community as part of the solution to opioid use at the local level.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Developing collaborations with leaders and targeted organizations in the community working on workforce development.
- Conducting a landscape scan about how the workforce in our community is experiencing the opioid problem.
- Developing an asset map to help industry and workforce development leaders look at community resources systemically.
- Attending applicable community coalition and meetings related to substance use disorder and workforce development.
- Conducting community conversations and trainings on Harwood Institute to engage the community as part of the solution.
- Participating in community and networking events to help raise awareness of United Way efforts.
- Identifying and facilitating possible collaborations between organizations with shared goals.
- Developing an experimental presentation to help educate and inform community members on the findings from second year of UNITED Against Opioid Abuse program.
- Developing and overseeing middle school drug prevention group (United Way affinity group).
