The Manager, Individual Philanthropy will work closely with the Individual Philanthropy fundraisers to develop and implement an intensive fundraising strategy focused on high net worth individual donors and prospects ($10,000 and above) at Save the Children. The Manager will support the cultivation and stewardship activities of a team of major gift fundraisers, and assist in on a variety of projects, including capital campaign efforts. This position is located in Fairfield, CT.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Support Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Work under the direction of the Senior Director, Individual Philanthropy to support the fundraising team’s cultivation activities and relationship development with donors and prospects. Participate in the creation of donor outreach strategy, monitor prospect contacts; help craft and execute regular touchpoints for donors; maintain donor database and manage donor lists; and act as the main point of contact for award management, among other administrative duties. (40%)
- Manage special projects designed to optimize donor experience and meet funding objectives, including fundraising appeals, continuous improvement and innovation projects. (25%)
- Establish strong internal working relationships: Actively support the Individual Philanthropy team across the organization, and participate in Resource Development activities such as campaigns, special events, salon events, field visits, workshops and trainings; limited travel as needed. Perform other duties for the group as may be assigned. (15%)
- Donor and Prospect development: In collaboration with the Senior Director, Individual Philanthropy, identify new major donor prospects and develop customized donor strategies. Over time, grow and maintain portfolio of high net worth donors with capacity to increase gift size. Be responsible for self-measuring against revenue goals. (10%)
- Manage humanitarian fundraising responsibilities: Be the liaison between Individual Philanthropy and other internal stakeholders, monitor different aspects of the humanitarian fundraising strategy for protracted crises and rapid on set emergencies, attend high priority meetings and receive support from the Humanitarian Fundraising Director; work overtime as needed. Perform other duties as may be assigned. (10%)
Educational Background:
High School or Technical/Vocational Degree
Skills/Experience:
- You have a minimum 3-5 years' experience in fundraising environment
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with a variety of constituents across an organization and with high net worth individuals
- Proven experience in donor and project management; experience with donor database software
- Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to synthesize a wide range of information and create compelling narratives
- Professional presentation skills; able to inspire confidence in internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work on a number of competing tasks.
- Detail oriented, strategic and creative thinker, and problem solver; entrepreneurial spirit.
- Fluent in Microsoft Office and Office 365
