The Manager, Community Engagement & Fundraising will be responsible for fostering relationships with new and existing supporters that are interested in fundraising for Save the Children through endurance programs. S/he will be responsible for recruitment, cultivation and stewardships of athletes and interested fundraisers. Working with the Director, National Events & Community Engagement, the Manager will play a vital role in supporting a strategic and integrated approach to fundraising, marketing, communications and operations that will support program growth.
Management/Execution 50%
- Execute the P2P Endurance campaigns to include the recruitment and engagement of endurance fundraising athletes for the Team Save program and other programs identified in the market.
- Manage and supervise direct reports for Endurance Program as well as outside consultants/vendors.
- Create, implement, and review fundraising tools and communications that support endurance events
Strategy and Planning 20%
- Work with the director and outside partners/consultants to execute against the plan on strategically growing the program.
- Manage corporate partner relationships such as the sponsorship of the Kids Zone.
Event Day Support 20%
- Be available on event days to ensure visible Save the Children representation while providing event support on the ground.
Program Analysis & Evaluation 5%
- Fundraising participant reporting and analysis to help define coaching strategy and increase retention together with Director of Community Engagement.
Budget Management 5%:
- Provide budget and program analysis and evaluations on an ongoing basis.
- A minimum 3-5 years' experience in area of expertise
- Professional level of specialized knowledge to manage complex tasks, programs or projects
- systems
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and public speaking skills to assist in face to face interaction with event volunteers/sponsors
- Knowledge of online communication and fundraising techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of online event management systems
- Relevant experience in recruitment and corporate employee engagement development
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Work, Excel).
- Proven written, communication & customer service skills.
- Ability to travel and work weekends as needed 10-15% of the time to provide event support.
