The Senior Director, Principal Gift Officer for the Centennial Campaign will possess a blend of frontline fundraising experience and will be an integral member of the campaign team and the Major Gifts Development team at large. This position is responsible for building and maintaining a strong base of major gift support from individuals with the highest giving capacity. S/he will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust pipeline from identification, cultivation, soliciting and stewarding. This position is located in Fairfield, CT.
Areas of Responsibility:
Identify and Secure Lead Gifts to the Centennial Campaign (65%)
- Prospect personal leads via Trustees and other influencers, and identify new leads to develop his/her portfolio
- Maintain an active pipeline of donors with high-net worth (i.e. capacity to give six-seven figure gifts)
- Execute donor-specific cultivation and solicitation strategies, make ongoing assessments about their efficacy, and modify fundraising strategies as needed, to secure 7-figure gifts
- Develop specific opportunities for investment that are compelling to high-value donors
- Focus on lapsed donors, board contacts, long-term high value Sponsors and cold names
- Prepare strategy, briefing and debriefing materials for face-to-face meetings with donors
- Advise and partner as needed with IPG relationship managers to build specific campaign offerings and secure campaign gifts from current donor base
Cultivation, Stewardship and Engagement (20%)
- Support the newly established women and philanthropy network, building the base of supporters and engagement strategies
- Support the development of an exclusive recognition program for centennial campaign donors at the highest level
Other (15%)
- Working knowledge of donor database systems; Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the fundraising database and track progress using major gifts’ custom reports.
- Perform other duties as related or assigned, including special projects and possible management of interns or other voluntary staff.
Educational Background:
Bachelors’ Degree and a minimum of 10-15 years fundraising experience.

- Successful track record of raising six- and seven-figure gifts and planned gifts.
