POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of YMCA of the Rockies which operates mission-based family and group conference and retreat centers, and a residential camp, serving more than 225,000 guests in two locations in Colorado, the Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch. The Association Business and Risk Director is primarily responsible for managing and directing the accounting and business operations of the Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch while also leading and implementing the Associations Enterprise Risk Management processes. This position will work as part of the Associations accounting team while collaboratively serving and supporting all aspects of the Centers financial, accounting, and risk management activities.

Areas of Responsibility: 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • In coordination with the CFO, support and manage the Center budget creation process and provide budget monitoring and accountability to department leaders and GMs at EPC and SMR
  • Develop, implement, and monitor standardized Center accounting functions including the night audit process, banking and cash management processes, retail outlet and inventory accounting processes, and all other accounting functions at EPC and SMR.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with EPC and SMR leadership as well as other departments such as IT, Sales & Marketing, and Philanthropy to ensure the Center business and accounting processes meet the needs of the entire Association.
  • Works closely in collaboration with the Accounting Manager to ensure all Center business and accounting functions are accounted for properly in the general ledger.
  • Lead, support, and oversee the night auditors at each Center.
  • In coordination with the VP of HR and Risk Management lead the Associations Enterprise Risk Management program by coordinating with various Center-level staff and safety managers.
  • Support the VP of HR and Risk Management in the coordination and communication related to the Associations Enterprise Risk Management process with the Association's insurance brokers, providers, and other risk management partners.
  • In coordination with the Technology team, support the day-to-day implementation, operation, and training for all business and accounting related systems used at the Centers, including the Point of Sale system and the property management system.
  • Be an active and supportive team member of the Accounting team while providing cross-functional support and leadership to the Center leadership teams in a collaborative manner with a servants posture.
  • Be on call for afterhours work as needed in support of the Center business functions and the night audit process.
  • Routing travel between the Estes Park Center, located in Estes Park CO, and Snow Mountain Ranch, located in Granby CO, at least two times a month, or more frequently as needed.
Skills/Experience: 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years in accounting or finance field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in leading a team of employees with an emphasis on employee coaching and development.
  • Thorough understanding of business and accounting principles, processes, and best practices required with experience supporting multi-site locations desired.
  • Impeccable attention to detail with an ability to coach and help others learn effectively
  • Must have very good organizational, communication, and computer (Microsoft Office) skills.
  • Possess a valid, USA state-issued drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.
Compensation/Benefits: 

COMPENSATION PACKAGE & BENEFITS:

This is a full-time, year-round, salary position paying $69,000 - $78,000/year, with full benefits including:
