The United Way of the Capital Region is seeking a Self-Starter to lead and grow our Ready for School, Ready to Succeed program.
The Ideal Candidate will: achieve long lasting, meaningful community impact in early childhood education and school readiness in the Capital Region through the development of relationships, building of partnerships and the engagement of volunteers.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Staff and support initiatives relevant to education for community impact.
- Foster relationships with community leaders and partners in the non-profit and education sectors.
- Establish and maintain relationships with area school districts, childcare providers, preschools and other subject matter experts.
- Serve as staff lead and administrative support for the Core Solution Partners of the Ready for School, Ready to Succeed program.
- Work with a team of educators to develop community-based opportunities for family engagement.
- Continually monitor program outcomes and measures to show program impact, report performance metrics and take corrective action as needed.
- Assist in researching, identifying, acquiring appropriate grant funding, and meeting reporting requirements for grants awarded.
- Research best practices relevant to early childhood education readiness and share findings with Core Solution Partners.
- Coordinate the development and distribution of marketing materials.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education.
Skills/Experience:
- 4 years of experience in the early childhood education required.
- Must demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Possess basic computer hardware and software proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver license and reliable transportation.
