Participates and supports all aspects of data collection and operation of the laboratory for research studies. Assists in the coordination of documentation associated with conducting research studies. Supports the creation of standardized study tools, processes and Standard Operating Procedures. Exports the results of studies, test results and data records. Performs a wide variety of research laboratory tasks, experiments, observations and interpreting results.
For PQC only: conducts quality assurance physical and chemical testing of global public health products to international standards. Follows laboratory standard operating procedures for ISO 17025 accredited laboratories including sample chain of custody, testing of products, laboratory safety, calibration and maintenance of lab equipment and reporting of test results.
- Establishes and maintains laboratory data records.
- Completes internal data reports and prepares sample submissions to external laboratories and study sites.
- Maintains inventory of study samples and products.
- Performs product submissions and related materials based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conducts a variety of lab services and routine analytical analysis.
- Interacts with senior staff to resolve research issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of principles, concepts and industry practices and standards with analytical testing procedures and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience:
- Typically requires 0-3 years of laboratory services including routine analytical analyses.
- Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language as appropriate.
- Prior experience data collection and laboratory analyses.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO).
