The Volunteer Engagement Associate will assist with the planning, management and execution of corporate and individual engagement opportunities.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Help coordinate an ongoing program of recruitment, interviewing, training, referral, placement, and recognition of volunteers.
- Fulfill team leader responsibilities which include pre-project planning, day of project management and post project follow-up.
- Communicate and follow-up with monitor and retain corporate accounts. Engage in project planning, communications and leading teams.
- Assist the Volunteer Engagement Manager with volunteer recruitment and communications and website management.
- Help match individuals and groups with volunteer opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of Learn United Tours.
- Help recruit groups and individuals for scheduled engagement opportunities. Assist in the planning, management, and execution of the National Days of Service program.
- Maintain records of volunteers, and prepare reports on volunteer programs.
- Manage volunteer project supply ordering and inventory.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, social sciences, community organizing or a related field
Skills/Experience:
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to assist with the planning, development, and implementation of project plans
- Comfortable working with a diverse population, exhibiting cultural sensitivity
Acquired Knowledge:
- A minimum of 6 months to one year of experience (including an internship) in volunteer services, community relations, project management or a related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet usage
