The Bib to Backpack (BtoB) Associate works closely with the Director of Bib to Backpack and the Social Innovation Fund (SIF) Manager by managing projects and liaising with other internal teams.
Areas of Responsibility:
- On an ad-hoc basis, manage projects for the BtoB Team and SIF Teams to operationalize strategy, including:
- Developing Gantt charts
- Running cost analyses
- Monitor and report on project activities and progress
- Regular communications with relevant UWSEM staff and partners
- Thorough documentation of meetings and decision-making
- Support reporting needs of project and grant staff
- Serve as an instrumental partner to BtoB's Community Engagement efforts
- Represent the BtoB team at external partner meetings and provide follow-up and support as needed
- Responsible for engaging community in relevant and appropriate policy and MBE decisions
- Acts as community organizer for delegated work streams and any others assigned by the Director of Bib to Backpack
- Serve as the BtoB Team liaison to the Policy Team
- Keep the Policy Team informed on our work and developments in the field of Early Childhood as a whole
- Strategize with the Policy Team on opportunities for UWSEM to provide a voice
- Collaborate with the Social Innovation Fund Team as needed to align policy viewpoints
- Serve as the BtoB Team and SIF liaison to Marketing and Brand Engagement (MBE)
- Keep MBE informed on our work and developments in the field of Early Childhood as a whole
- Strategize with the MBE to tell the story of our work in Early Childhood and with SIF
- Support other organizational initiatives around marketing and engagement
- Represent UWSEM's BtoB team within the greater Community Impact team, by establishing and maintaining relationships with other internal teams such as Financial Stability, Basic Needs, Volunteer Engagement, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree plus two years' experience; or Associate's degree plus four years' experience
Skills/Experience:
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing
- Must be comfortable working with diverse populations, including elevated administrators (CEOs, Executive Staff) as well as program participants from differing ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Able to demonstrate confidentiality, discretion and positive interpersonal skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
Acquired Knowledge:
- Nonprofit and community engagement experience is highly desirable
