Traveling Health Center Assistant

Works as a replacement for Health Center Assistants at health centers across the agency; as a result, the position requires extensive travel, sometimes on short notice.  All of this is done while maintaining a professional, efficient and supportive work environment.  This position is hourly, part time, non-exempt. This position pays $13.45/hr for non-bilingual applicants and $14.20/hr for bilingual applicants.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Travel to any PPRM health center in need as assigned and work as a replacement Health Center Assistant (HCA). 
  • Participate in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by working towards a positive outcome with any problems encountered.
  • Work independently with little direct supervision.     
  • Communicate effectively and ethically using email, phone, and/or face to face interaction with management staff, peers, and clients.
  • Serve as an advocate for health centers to administration and support administration policy in the health centers in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Assist in the training of new HCA personnel as appropriate.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure client satisfaction and promote health center success.
Educational Background: 
High-school diploma or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have excellent internal and external customer service, typing, communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have willingness and ability to travel, including reliable transportation, liability insurance and a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to function effectively in an ever-changing environment and have ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Must be highly dependable and have strong integrity and ethics.
  • Health center experience desirable and bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
