The Director of Organizational Giving is responsible for all foundations, associations, corporations, and government grant income for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM).This position will lead the strategic planning, budgeting process, and implementation for the organizational giving blueprint across the region and will oversee the entire development cycle for this growing constituency/segment. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensures agency’s revenue goals from organizational giving (foundations, associations, corporations, and government grants) are achieved.
  • Manages organization relations and grants administration with the support of development writers and program staff in other departments.
  • Works directly with the organizations team to coordinate timelines for writing proposals, reports, and other stewardship communications to foundations.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of PPRM programs, services, and initiatives through positive cross-departmental relationships.
  • Prepares strong, thorough proposals to foundations, associations, corporations and municipal and state governments to support PPRM programs and meet agency fundraising goals.
  • Coordinates relationships between PPRM program and finance departments during grant writing and reporting process.
  • Prepares reports demonstrating impact, successes and challenges for funders
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key foundation, corporation, and government staff and/or board members as appropriate, with the VP of Development and other members of the Leadership Team through meetings, networking events, and written communication.
  • Contributes to all donor-centered publications including but not limited to:  the annual report, the newsletter foundation and corporate acknowledgement letters, reports for major donors, and other communications with funders.
  • Work with the prospect research team to identify and research foundation, corporate and government funding prospects.
  • Responsible for the hiring, on-boarding, training, supervision, and performance management of development writers.
  • Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 4 years of foundation relations and direct grant management experience or related experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • A strong leader with demonstrated abilities to assess needs, plan strategically and evaluate implementation of programs.Experience identifying/networking and developing important stakeholder relationships including other fundraising professionals, foundation staff, and corporate and government contacts
  • Expert relationship-builder, especially among a diverse range of communication-styles and backgrounds
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and to change priorities based on agency needs
  • Experience running high level reports and tracking data required.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel and additional technology necessary to perform job function required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours with occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to function effectively in an ever changing environment.
