The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Fundraising Director (Youth Market Director) in Northern Colorado. Under the direction of the Youth Market Vice President, the Fundraising Director is responsible for implementing the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge events, previously known as Jump Rope for Heart. This position works with school-based coordinators, (typically the PE Teacher) and the school principal to raise funds through our school-based educational fundraising program. The Fundraising Director will act as the American Heart Association liaison with superintendents, district staff, and school-based staff in Denver.

This position is also responsible for performing assemblies with approximately 50 of the schools and must be comfortable presenting to a large number of children and adults. You would be responsible for achieving income and recruitment goals through the management of existing customers, and prospecting for and cultivating of new school accounts. The fundraising goal will be approximately $450,000 with 150 schools participating.

This position requires you to be in the territory 95% of your time and requires overnight trips approximately 6 times per year for 2-3 days each time. The travel will be in Fraser, Steamboat, Meeker and surrounding mountain areas. We offer a yearly salary, a yearly incentive for exceeding the fundraising goals for the position, travel reimbursement, and a great benefits package. This position is home based but the majority of the workday will be spent traveling by car to schools across the Northern Colorado region. To qualify for this position you must live in the territory (Longmont, Boulder, Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland or surrounding areas)

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1½ years of experience equates to 1 full-time year of higher education.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, including proven success in sales, marketing or fundraising required.
  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have proficient knowledge and skill with office-related computer programs used for word processing, email, and spreadsheets and be very organized.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
