Coordinator, Donor Engagement and Operations

This position coordinates donor engagement activities and communication for donor networks and affinity groups. As part of the Donor Engagement team of Resource Development, this role will support the Senior Manager, Donor Engagement through thought partnership, development of annual strategy, and implementation of strategy in collaboration with all of the Resource Development teams, with the overall goal to increase recruitment, engagement, and investment among new and current donors.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides active management for affinity group members, including our Catalyst Society and Women United community connections group.
  • Manages onboarding processes for new affinity group members in collaboration with affinity group volunteers.
  • Collaboratively creates and manages the educational programming for Women United.
  • Engages with new prospects acquired via our affinity groups to determine interests and capacity.
  • Coordinates the communication calendar and development of collateral for affinity groups in collaboration with the marketing team and individual donor team.

  • Manages donor data efficiently and accurately by providing ongoing reporting to appropriate staff and developing processes to update data consistently.
  • Provides operational support for affinity groups and ambassador programming, including preparation, day-of implementation, and follow up.
  • Provides support to staff as it relates to the success of our donor engagement strategy.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, humanities, or equivalent experience preferred, High School/GED required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Lead and support meetings with staff, volunteer committees, and donor groups.
  • Prepare written and verbal communications and presentations to large audiences.
  • Support the implementation of donor cultivation and recognition events and support other fundraising events in close cooperation/coordination with other departments/leaders.
  • Provides support to other department and organization priorities, as needed, e.g. strategic plan, annual budget, special initiatives, etc.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of stewardship strategies that includes timely gift acknowledgement, annual updates to donors, and recognition based on gift levels.
  • 1 year experience working with nonprofits or human services organizations.
  • Understanding of marketing, sales or fundraising and customer service roles and general supervisory experience.

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet.
