Asisstant Health Center Manager

Assists the center manager in all aspects of daily center functions as directed.  Acts as a role model for staff and is an advocate for clients.  There must be a demonstrated need in the health center for this position.  This position is hourly, non-exempt.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Have mastered responsibilities of advanced health center assistant or related job experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by working towards a positive outcome with any problems encountered.
  • Have complete understanding of clinical skills.  This includes the Electronic Practice Management System, lab testing and follow-up, and the health center clinical systems.
  • Assist with the daily, weekly and monthly financial management of the health center.  This includes preparing and reviewing budget documents as well as required reports, audits, and projects.
  • Act as the Flow Facilitator by monitoring center flow, facilitate communication between front and back staff, prevent unacceptable client wait time, and communicate to clients about available services and expected wait time.
  • Acts a role model for staff.
  • Facilitate and support implementation of the manager’s business plan for the center in order to insure financial success.
  • Take an active role in promoting center services within the community.  Willing to provide public speaking and outreach as needed.
  • Capable of overseeing the health center in the manager’s absence.
  • Willing to perform additional duties as needed to insure client satisfaction.
  • Participates in abortion services (participation can include referrals, information, education, counseling, performing, scheduling, etc.)
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or equivalent. 
Skills/Experience: 

Previous experience with Planned Parenthood as an advanced health center assistant or related human service experience required.  Applicant must have ability and desire to develop skills appropriate for center management and have excellent customer service, communication, typing and organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
