About Youth Volunteer Corps of Western Connecticut: Youth Volunteer Corps of Western Connecticut (YVC) is one of nearly 40 YVC programs throughout the U.S. and Canada dedicated to changing the lives of youth through service. A program of United Way of Western Connecticut, the YVC serves youth ages 11-18 throughout greater Danbury, greater New Milford, and Stamford. The YVC engages youth from diverse backgrounds in service-learning projects in the local community throughout the school year and summer. Our YVC Summer Program is set up like a summer day camp in which youth go out and volunteer in the community in fun, structured, service projects where they develop strong team-work and communication skills, as well as lifelong friendships.
