Health Solutions Strategist

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Health Solutions Strategistbased out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This individual will be responsible for executing science and evidence-based research and trends analysis to identify emerging opportunities and clinical innovations related to cardiovascular health aligned with the AHA’s mission. Responsible for leading experimental and innovative projects based on healthcare quality improvement or cutting-edge science to develop and deliver high impact solutions. Also, responsible for exploring and understanding relevant technologies, trends, and potential partnerships/alliances. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Identifies, examines, and transitions scientific, and clinical research opportunities that represent the greatest potential to scalable models in support of AHA’s health quality and improvement goals. Manages a large and diverse portfolio of internal and external relationships
  • Develops, implements and monitors projects, practices, and overall infrastructure to drive and facilitate concepts and innovation solutions based upon credible science and clinical practice
  • Ensures the timely delivery of research project results through exploration, discovery, and prototyping. Establishes relationships and prototype teams with internal staff and external vendors or partners
  • Facilitates and manages working with science or healthcare quality volunteer beta communities or groups to get direct feedback on prototypes and conceptual models. Acts as a resource for information about innovative strategies for products and programs
  • Summarizes results and transitions approved prototypes and successful pilot projects to the product development team
Educational Background: 
Master's Degree in Public Health, or Clinician with post graduate work (MD or RN) in cardiovascular or emergency medicine
Skills/Experience: 
  • Eight (8) years of experience as a healthcare provider (pre-hospital, nursing, mid-level provider, or physician) with an ability to demonstrate previous impact on quality improvement and/or quality of care initiatives
  • Eight (8) years of demonstrated work / experience (publications, reports / white papers, presentations, speaking experience) in researching, creating, and or implementing quality improvement strategies
  • Demonstrates an ability to drive change through influence and collaboration with others through creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently, including presenting to internal stakeholders, end users, and senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize broad fields of study and information into a cohesive, concise and persuasive view on future states as part of an iterative development process
  • Courageous doer, self-motivated and resilient with desire to change the world, where the solutions that we design and develop have dramatic impact on survival and quality of life
  • Demonstrates a genuine passion for the value and contributions made through innovation
  • Ability to travel up to 30% local and overnight stay
