Develop, oversee and implement United Way of Central Ohio’s strategic marketing plan through the management of all marketing activities, research, advertising and promotions.  Manage the Marketing department.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan focused on acquiring and retaining donors that achieves measurable results.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications messages and tools.
  • Ensure the coordination and brand consistency of communications activities within the organization.
  • Executes projects in a cost-effective, timely manner; measure results and adjust efforts to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Provides marketing guidance and support to all departments.
  • Manages the creation and production of digital, print and audiovisual materials.
  • Oversee social media activity and digital assets.
  • Oversee advertising program and manages advertising agency of record.
  • Oversee media planning and buying and manages media buying consultant.
  • Develop research to determine the voice of the customer and proactively adjust marketing strategies and messages to reflect research results.
  • Develop annual department budget.
  • Manage Marketing department staff.
  • Supervise direct reports in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Establish department and individual goals; interview, hire and train direct reports. Schedule, direct and monitor staff's work. Evaluate performance and provide training and development as needed. Maintain regular communication, addressing questions and resolving issues that arise.
Educational Background: 
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of experience with progressive responsibility and supervisory experience.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 to 5 years digital experience required.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience developing successful donor/key stakeholder journeys preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
  • Demonstrate track record leading project that require cross departmental engagement.
  • Thorough appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to, diversity.
  • Work requires good understanding of a variety of computer systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and support for United Way Mission, Vision, Value Statements, Service Standards, Confidentiality Standards, and Policies and Procedures.
