United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC), has an immediate opening for a creative, dynamic, energetic leader to join the Marketing Team.  

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead strategy in the marketing department to drive alignment across all copy and content in the manifestation of the communications direction and brand positioning of United Way Worldwide. 
  • Manage team of ten communications professionals. 
  • Manage Volunteer Connections Team overseeing UWGC volunteerism efforts.
  • Direct web/online engagement strategies and tactics and content creation and integration efforts across channels including uwgc.org, affiliated micro-sites, social media, etc. 
  • Direct and coordinate purchase and/or negotiate paid and donated media placements across multiple channels.  
  • Lead marketing and communications for all UWGC critical products and organizational positioning in the region. 
  • Develop strategy for all signature events for organization including kick-off, annual meeting and campaign finale. 
  • Lead in the development of all organizational campaign materials, major giving and individual engagement collateral. 
  • Lead and develop the United Way Speakers Bureau Training and Relationship Manager Training. 
  • Support to Senior Vice President in overall team management and leadership to the overall team in the absence of the Senior Vice President.  
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of eight years of art/creative direction, design, multimedia experience. 
  • Management experience, including recruiting, training and building teams required. 
  • Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft office products (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), required. 
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design platforms for print and digital, web development, HTML and CSS experience preferred but not required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including public speaking and presentation skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to listen effectively and solicit information from others. 
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple projects in varying degrees of implementation and understand and manage priorities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and flexibly as part of a team. 
  • Creative portfolio of results-oriented work that shows a diversity of experience across both online and offline media. 
  • Human-centric approach to design that evokes trust, collaboration and innovation. 
  • Various experiences building a brand in multiple markets, keeping in mind cultural differences across audience segments.  
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously and set and execute on priorities is critical.   
  • Strategic thinking and ability to apply marketing/communications tactics to broad organizational strategies required. 
  • Demonstrated writing, editing skills required.   
  • Must have strong planning and relationship management skills.
