Manager, Network Fundraising Services

The Network Fundraising Services (NFS) Manager will support Feeding America’s efforts to support network members through tools, skills, guidance and resources to grow and sustain local fundraising. The department helps food banks achieve strong revenue gains while also strengthening relationships and deepening engagement between the national organization and network members around the country. 

The position reports to the Director of Network Fundraising Services and works closely with members of the Feeding America development team as well as colleagues in Feeding America network-facing departments.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist in the implementation of Network Fundraising Services’ customized programs designed to increase fundraising capacity for network members, including but not limited to Development Assessments, Major Gifts Plans, Fundraising Planning Institutes and Campaign Planning Support.Collect fundraising data from NFS clients and troubleshoot data issues to ensure accuracy.
  • Format data and generate a comprehensive PowerPoint data deck displaying trends and benchmarks.
  • Translate data into data visualization tools.
  • Conduct personal interviews with key internal and external constituents.
  • Document quantitative and qualitative findings. 
  • Provide preliminary assessment of data.
  • Analyze network members strategic plans; cases for support; development organization, structure, and strategies; staffing, resources, and budget; and donor information systems.
  • Prepare written analysis and fundraising strategy recommendations.
  • Present findings to network member CEOs/EDs, board members and fundraising staff, as needed.
  •  Provide direct support to food bank staff implementing recommendations.
  • Aggregate, format, and calculate annual peer benchmarks for key fundraising metrics.
  • Help facilitate peer-to-peer best practice sharing and engage network fundraising professionals in tested and innovative fundraising approaches from member food banks, Feeding America, and other organizations nationwide.
  • Collaborate with the NFS team, FA development colleagues and network fundraising leaders to identify network needs, craft content, and deliver training in person and electronically.Develop follow-up surveys for customized service recipients to track and report on NFS impact.
  • Provide logistical support to ensure successful service delivery, via electronic learning platforms and through in-person engagements.
  • Manage NFS presence on HungerNet, the Feeding America network’s intranet.
  • Support planning and logistics of NFS events, workshops and institutes.
  • Design ad hoc reports and other materials to address network members’ questions.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Leverages Functional Expertise – Ability to proactively and independently manage all aspects of the network fundraising cycle including data analysis, data visualization, presentation development and presenting findings and recommendations for assigned food banks.
  • Communicates Effectively – Ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders through written materials, emails, and presentations.
  • Collaborates Internally and Externally – Ability to collaborate across a variety of internal departments as well as network food banks and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Manages for Results – Strong project management skills necessary to manage, coordinate and prioritize multiple relationships and projects at one time.
  • Translates Strategy to Operational Goals – Ability to understand and articulate overall fund-raising strategy, priority initiatives, and fundable opportunities at and for various food banks.

Required Technical Competencies and Experience

  • Demonstrated data analytics and problem-solving experience
  • Proficiency in formatting, analyzing, and manipulating very large data sets
  • Experience in food bank fundraising desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; Proficiency in Tableau and/or other data visualization software preferred
  • Superior written and oral communication skills and comfort with public speaking
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Professional demeanor
  • Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and confidence
  • Comfort with travel and working while away from Feeding America’s national office
