The Director of Donor Operations will manage the daily operations of the Donor Services and Pledge Processing team and supports the organizations vision, mission, and strategy objectives. This position is primarily responsible for management all areas of accounts receivables and pledge processing.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Donor Operations

  • Manage the operations of Donor Services and Pledge Processing, including direct supervision of the Donor Services Manager and the Pledge Processing Manager.
  • Collaborates with the team to handle all internal and external inquiries related to Donor Services and Pledge Processing Manager. Provide and monitor a tracking system that ensures donors requests are answered in a timely manner.
  • Provide extensive training to all direct staff, employees, volunteers, on all aspects of Donor Services and Pledge Processing team as needed.
  • Responsible for written procedures for all areas of Donor Services and Pledge Processing.
  • Responsible for coordinating most aspects of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
  • Ensure payment and pledge information is handled efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide staff with on-going direction, leadership and development opportunities.
  • Prepare performance plans with staff and conduct performance reviews.
  • Add/Update BB&T lockbox users as needed.
  • Responsible for informing supervisor of problems and suggestions to improve processes.
  • Report known theft or suspected security problems to supervisor.
  • Perform analysis on past due pledge receivables, provide monthly reporting and collections report by the 15th.
  • Provide monthly campaign summary report by the 5th.
  • Coordinate and provide analysis for external auditors.
  • Approve all account balances write offs and other adjustments in ANDAR.
  • Responsible for the sale of securities.  Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations on all stock account.
  • Responsible for coordinating Donor Services and Pledge Processing offsite record storage as outlined in United Way of Central Carolinas “Record Storage Policy”.
  • Responsible for recording and ensuring all deposits are picked up by Dunbar.
  • Maintain adherence to financial policies and procedures as approved by AVP of Donor Operations.
  • Maintain proper segregation of duties between Pledge Processing and Donor Services.
  • Maintain proper control and security over the ANDAR system.
  • Participate in hiring of temporary pledge process PPAs.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the Pledge Processing Manager and Donor Services Manager and help all areas of Finance as requested
Educational Background: 
B.A. in Business Administration or at least 3 years’ experience in a related field required
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience required
  • A minimum of one year of large volume transaction processing required
  • Work requires strong analytical, math, process management, interpersonal, written and verbal communications and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, self-motivated, flexible, dependable and ability to work independently required.
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment required. 
  • Strong computer skills, expertise in Excel and prior database experience required.
  • Experience with ANDAR a plus. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $61,000 to $70,000 per year
