- Manage and coordinate all efforts of the community impact staff including: assign and monitor all job responsibilities, maintain positive staff relations, and ensure that organizational resources are used to their maximum potential
- Oversee all UWCC community impact initiatives and investments, including multiple annual funding processes, community planning and research initiatives, agency and volunteer relations, and reporting
- Manage relationship with state 211 system; identify opportunities to utilize 211 for local planning purposes
- Oversee volunteer initiatives, including management of Hands on Charlotte staff; integrate and align volunteer efforts with community impact strategy
- Develop and maintain state, regional and national partnerships that support and promote UWCC’s work.
- Ensure regular communication and positive relationships with board of directors, volunteers, donors, community partners, elected officials, policy makers, and other organizations in the community.
- Measure, track and report community outcomes as they relate to all assigned projects; assess community assets and needs and directs initiatives to address identified needs
- Drive the ongoing collection and analysis of community research to inform UW and community-wide efforts to improve outcomes
- Contribute to UWCC’s resource development goals through grant-writing, grant administration, and participation in corporate campaign-related activities, as needed
Educational Background:
Master’s degree in social science or related field required; doctoral degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership role(s) within non-profit sector
- Experience in leading large-scale systems change initiatives including development and implementation of solutions to address complex community issues focused on issues related to economic mobility
- Developing, facilitating, and leading community partnerships and collaborations
- Experience with comprehensive neighborhood revitalization and transformation efforts
- Community planning and / or community research experience including:
- Developing and executing community informed plans
- Facilitating diverse groups of stakeholders to support community change initiatives
- Developing and implementing policy advocacy agendas
- Ability to analyze, synthesize, and translate academic research for the purposes of improving programs and/or policies
- Program evaluation including the development of logic models, data tracking systems, and reporting mechanisms
- Developing and managing grant funding processes and grant-writing experience
- Public speaking on topics related to economic mobility and child/family well-being
- Ability to manage a large volume of work with competing deadlines and priorities
