Climbers for Christ is a global ministry focused on rock climbers. As climbers, we are part of a distinct people group who enjoy challenging ourselves on the rocks and in the mountains, and we naturally develop strong connections with one another through shared experiences. We are seeking a new Executive Director to replace our previous Executive Director, Calvin Landrus, who recently passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Ensure that all ministry efforts, staff, and volunteers are consistent with the mission of Climbers for Christ
  • Work with Board of Directors and hold regular meetings
  • Cast vision and make executive level decisions
  • Grow the ministry
  • Recruit, train, and oversee staff and volunteers 
  • Screen and connect sponsored athletes with outreach efforts
  • Community Presence
    • Maintain and grow online presence
    • Ensure adequate presence in printed publications
    • Ensure website is current and regularly updated
  • Oversee content development
    • Prepare content for email updates, newsletters, outreach articles
    • Ensure content is adequately edited & proofed
    • Ensure that outreach videos are produced on a regular basis
    • Oversee administrative duties and finances:
  • Donations
    • Receiving & receipt process
    • Donor relations & thank-you gifts/year-end letters
    • Work with book-keeper to ensure bills are paid on time
    • Money is being spent appropriately and is accounted for
    • Maintain contact list for mass mailing
  • Budget
    • Develop, maintain, and report on annual budget
    • Maintain non-profit corporate business matters
    • Complete all government paperwork
    • File non-profit tax return
    • Other matters as required
Skills/Experience: 

Strong Christ-follower with previous ministry and fundraising experience required. Over-seas mission work is encouraged. Previous climbing experience required.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Self-supported position with some financial support provided by CFC.

We believe that the best way to reach climbers is through relationships. This is why we are primarily organized by local chapters of like-minded climbers. Our Chapter Coordinators champion the building of authentic communities where climbers can be themselves. They are intentional about creating an atmosphere conducive to conversations and experiences related to climbing AND Jesus.
