Capita Area United Way working with our community to improve lives by leveraging partnerships in our community to advance the common good through education, income stability, and healthy living.

The Database Coordinator will be highly focused on operation in several database programs for effective information and referral service delivery. There will be a higher focus on data entry and maintenance of the 2-1-1 database, as this is a more prevalent and ongoing need. This person will coordinate with program staff and ensure that data is properly entered, updated and maintained.  This person will ensure the information meets database regulations up-to-date with the most current information available to meet the needs of capital region residents, including specialized information for disaster response.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Serve as the primary staff member responsible for maintenance and support in program several databases for the Capital Area United Way.
    • Provide primary support to the 2-1-1 database iCarol and abide by established standards and guidelines according to the AIRS/INFO Taxonomy of Human Services.
    • Evaluate the appropriateness of inclusion/exclusion of information based on the established policy of each database.
    • Identify new and existing community resources, such as local non-profits, government departments and disaster information.
  • Ensure that clear and detailed written descriptions and information are inserted into each database.
  • Take steps to ensure all resource data is up-to-date as services change – to be done not less than annually.
  • Capture all disaster-related resources and tag properly during times of emergency and disaster.
  • Provide monthly reports as requested by Capital Area United Way, Louisiana Association of United Way, and other necessary grants or contracts as required.
  • Administrative tasks related to database maintenance such as phone calls, email correspondence, and project maintenance.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Attend United Way staff meetings, conference calls, or trainings as requested
  • Meet any certification requirements necessary for program development and/or accreditation
  • Perform disaster duties as needed including extended hours, after hours and/or weekends
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor
  • Keep CAUW informed of your concerns or needs
  • Participate in cross-functional activities and events in support of organization’s mission.
  • Strive to evaluate and implement continuous improvement to processes while maintaining quality throughout the organization.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field Administration preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in database management and multi-function task delivery
  • Knowledge of community resources and the human service delivery system or ability to acquire knowledge quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple priorities
  • Analytical and highly organized, attentive to detail
  • Excellent interviewing, written communication and proofreading skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of technology
  • Ability to work well in stressful, fast-paced work environment
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
