Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented professional to serve in the role of Specialist, Veterans Build. The Veterans Build Specialist will support the Director in maintenance of new and existing veteran-focused relationships and in outreach to potential organizational partners. The Specialist will work closely with US Operations HFHI internal departments to ensure the Veterans Initiative builds upon the existing policies, procedures, and other organizational support structures for effective program development. The Veterans Build Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining outreach mechanisms for effective communication between HFHI, Habitat Affiliates, and the Veteran Community. The Veterans Build Specialist will facilitate day-to-day implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of HFHI Veterans Build programs. This position supports Veterans Build affiliates implementation of; national partnerships, new programs, and program design supporting veteran housing needs.
- Implement national programs and partnerships so that US affiliates have direct local benefit from national partnerships.
- Monitor and supervise implementation of new programs under Veterans Build with the Program Management Team.
- Develop and implement outreach tools for communication between HFHI, affiliates, and the veteran community
- Deliver training related to veterans, veteran housing and Habitat for Humanity to a variety of targeted audiences
- Coordinate with HHFI departments and teams to develop resources that support implementation of Veterans Build.
- Participate in Grant Development for new grants
- Support HFHI Resource Development by providing input on proposals and supporting communication with donors.
Required:
- 2-3 years experience in a program coordination position
- Military/Veteran connection or experience with veteran organizations
- Experience with veteran organizations and/or other housing related non-profits
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software, internet and basic office equipment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
Preferred:
- Military or Veteran
- Experience related to Housing, Veteran Housing, Homelessness issues
- Experience with Social Media and communications tools
- Ability to analyze data in service of strategic planning
- Critical analytical skills, especially in situations where the issues are not fully defined
- Demonstrated experience in developing training curriculums
- Demonstrated experience delivering and facilitating trainings
