Reporting to the Director, Acquisition & Monthly Giving, the Specialist, Acquisition & Monthly Giving is responsible for supporting the Direct Marketing (DM) Fundraising Group to drive unrestricted revenue as well as a limited amount of restricted revenue. The Specialist works on multiple programs - monthly giving, acquisition, reinstatement, and fulfillment. This position focuses on mail and telemarketing campaigns as well as integration with digital campaigns. The Specialist will support the Director with strategic fundraising, technical and reporting projects. The key to success includes developing and delivering projects to enhance and expand the fundraising capacity and to increase efficiencies within DM. Other responsibilities of this position include: helping to maintain data hygiene and integrity, ensuring quality control, campaign reporting and analysis, documenting and streamlining business processes, production management, creative processes, and assisting with the stabilization and future development of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and marketing database systems.
- Provide support to Director, Acquisition & Monthly Giving with production management and implementation of solicitation and cultivation efforts as well as quality control of campaign segmentation for mail and telemarketing campaigns (40%)
- Collaborates with the DM Fundraising Group to help integrate offline and digital campaigns. (10%)
- Helps to maintain data hygiene and integrity of donors in the database, ensure quality control of data file pulls, create data queries, activate marketing efforts and provide campaign reporting and analysis. (15%)
- Collaborates with DM Fundraising staff, DM Database Group and IT on the stabilization and future development of the CRM and marketing database systems. (10%)
- Works with Director, other internal HFHI depts and external vendors on creative processes and securing approvals. (15%)
- Special Projects as assigned to enhance and expand Direct Marketing's fundraising capacity and increase efficiencies within the unit. (10%)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, direct marketing campaigns a plus.
- Experience collaborating with others in a complex, matrix-structured, multi-national, dynamic organizational environment
- Strong analytical skills and experience creating reports
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, with excellent listening skills
- Strong technology skills and experience that ideally includes an understanding of: large-scale database management; nonprofit constituent relationship management systems; and web-application development processes
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities and trends
- Individual with high energy level, self-confidence and a positive “can-do” attitude are essential
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Office and computer equipment skills (internet, Excel, email, electronic calendar, word processing, electronic forms, Microsoft Environment) are required.
