Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of a Grant Compliance & Donor Reporting Manage. The Grant Compliance & Donor Reporting (GCDR) Manger ensures compliance with donor requirements by supporting the strategic objectives of GCDR. Ensuring HFHI and its external partners are in compliance with grant requirements and enhancing Global Grants Management and Compliance capacity to support HFHI’s growth in grant funding. This position will be based in our administrative headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
Perform pre-award activities including grant applications 10%
- Lead the capacity assessment of HFH and its external partners to manage future grants as required.
- Provide technical support in the preparation and review of project proposal budgets.
- Participate in "Go/No-Go" decision for grant application.
Perform donor financial reporting 45%
- Prepare, consolidate, review, and submit required financial reports for grants received through HFHI (excluding branches) with donor requirements.
- Review required financial reports for grants received through NOs, including branches with donor requirements before submission to the donor.
- Develop/publish grant accounting procedures when grants are received from a new donor or when there are significantly complex reporting requirements attached to a grant.
Perform grant compliance support and review 15%
- Review grant agreements (including financial budget, match and reporting requirements) before signing with grantor/donor.
- Participate in selection of subrecipients and contractors under a grant.
- Review HFH subgrant agreements/contracts with subrecipients/contractors (including financial budget, match and reporting requirements) before signing with subgrantee/contractor.
- Highlight grant requirements and create an understanding of those.
- Perform periodic desk/onsite monitoring of grant implementation which may include review of expenses charged to grants for eligibility and obtain reasonable assurance that HFH and its external partners comply with grant requirements.
Enhance global grants management capacity 25%
- Develop/publish standard grants management policies, procedures, tools, etc.
- Provide training, guidelines, tools, advisory services, and share best practices.
- Support the development of financial management systems of NOs including branches to manage grants which may include developing policies, procedures, etc.
Support internal and external audits for grants 5%
- Internal Audit;
- Grantors/Donors Audit;
- External audit required by donors.
- Years of Related Experience: 8 years
- At least Five (5) years’ experience in ensuring grant compliance and donor reporting
- Financial reporting experience in non-profit industry
- Knowledge and experience of statutory and regulatory requirements of bi-lateral and multilateral donors, such as US Federal Agencies, Irish Aid, DFID, CIDA, EU, UN, etc.
- Ability or experience in financial analysis
- Detail oriented, particularly with regard to donor agreements, contracts and other related legal documents
- Contractual negotiation skills
- Ability to coordinate with all stakeholders of grants management
- Good project management skills in planning, organizing, executing and monitoring
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal relation skills
- Strong writing skills and experience in developing policies, procedures, and business processes
- Strong MS Office skills
- Extensive Excel skills and experience (SUMIFs, Named Ranges, vLookups, data tables, VB macros, sorting and filtering)
- Strong experience in Sharepoint
Preferred:
- Developing training materials and facilitating training workshops
- International NGO work experience
- Strongly preferred working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS
- Working knowledge of Sun Systems, Navision, etc.
