The Development Coordinator will ensure the effective and professional operation support for the Chief Development Officer, Vice President of Corporate Relations, and Donor Engagement team by performing administrative duties.
United Way is searching for a dedicated professional who learns quickly and produces quality work in time sensitive, high volume situations often involving communications with high level donors. Must be able to work with little supervision and be a self-motivated team player able to make credible decisions in a complex working environment. Must have acute skills around attention to detail. Must help maintain positive team morale, identifying problems & recommending positive solutions. Must have working understanding of fundraising best practices. Project management experience required. Must be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Provide support to Chief Development Officer and Vice President, Corporate Relations as well as the Donor Engagement team (including calendar and meeting management, CRM data entry, and other duties)
- Successfully manage and execute upon all aspects of United Way’s Speakers and Tours Bureau
- Support implementation of engagement and fundraising strategies
- Support Direct Market Associate as needed with audits and securing campaign results
- Donor event and training support throughout the year
- Provide customer care and communicate with donors and volunteers as needed
- Prepare items essential for effective team management, i.e., agendas, rosters, correspondence, reports, analyses, purchase orders and spreadsheets
- Maintain database information for assigned areas, specifically weekly KPI metrics
- Submit departmental invoices & check requests to ensure reimbursements are made and bills are paid in a timely manner.
- Coordinate meetings for Chief Development Officer and Vice President, Corporate Relations
- Serve as contact person to all questions & requests directed for Chief Development Officer
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Work experience as an administrative/executive assistant or event specialist preferred
- Use of personal vehicle may be required at times

- Proven ability to work with confidential matters
- Ability to work with staff from diverse industries & backgrounds
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with a keen eye for details
- Extensive understanding of electronic communications
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel (including pivot tables) , PowerPoint
- Experience with a CRM platform is a plus
- Editing, proofreading, English & grammar proficiency
- Ability to work flexible hours as some evening and weekends hours may be necessary
- Self-starter and intuitive nature to anticipate needs of the organization
