Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Associate Director - Grant Management. This role will help the overall department lead and support the development of grant management and reporting culture, people, systems, policies, procedures and practices ensuring that Habitat for Humanity (HFH) establishes and complies with donor requirements while supporting the mission. This position will be based in Atlanta, GA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead/perform grant accounting and donor reporting for reportable donors/grantors to donors, project managers and other stakeholders; support new donors with appropriate procedures, etc.
  • Coordinate/perform cash management activities for grants including US Federal grant drawdowns; prepare invoices and reports as required in grant agreements
  • Plan/coordinate/perform grant compliance review including budgets, grant agreements prior to contract finalization, sub-grant agreements and implementation, etc. Perform periodic transaction reviews, analysis of grant variances. Ensure grant compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Support the development of finance systems and grant management capacity for HFHI and its international branches that receive public funds including US government funds: policies, procedures, information systems, financial controls, and timely and accurate reporting; review capacity prior to submission of grant applications; provide training and standard policies, etc. to global HFH entities
  • Prepare SEFA according to GAAP and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Support/administer global internal and external audits
  • Provide grants management technical support to HFHI departments and HFH entities in the following disciplines:
    • Financial Management
    • Procurement/Contracting
    • HR Management
    • Resource Development including Grant applications and reporting to Reportable Donors.
    • Project/Program Management including design and evaluation.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years’ experience
  • At least an intermediate level knowledge of accounting and 5+ years’ experience in grant accounting, reporting and monitoring experience with grants from US government agencies such as HUD, CNCS, USAID, etc., other government funding agencies, International donors and others
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures and business processes
  • Supervisory experience and skills
  • Project management experience and skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of USAID and other US government federal agencies federal grant requirements including rules and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accounting certification
  • International NGO grant accounting experience
  • Experience in training adults
  • Prior International work experience
