The Leadership Giving Manager is responsible for the year-round management, strategic development and solicitation of individual donors focusing on gifts of $1K and above. In addition, the Leadership Giving Manager oversees Women United affinity group, the Peaks Society and their respective volunteer committees.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage an extensive donor portfolio of leadership giving prospects and donors ($1,000 plus).
- Manage a small portfolio of Major Gifts prospects ($10,000 plus)
- Manage a portfolio of 20+ corporate accounts of varying size
- Develop an annual work plan and strategies that contribute to the acquisition and retention of donors.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications department to coordinate events, recognition programs and the development of materials, website, newsletter and emails for leadership giving members.
- Train volunteers to develop an effective solicitation program.
- Engage and involve leadership donors and prospects through consistent communication and volunteer opportunities.
- Work with Hands On Asheville-Buncombe staff to create volunteer opportunities aligned with United Way’s goals, leadership donors and Women United member interests.
- Maintain and recruit volunteer committees: Peaks Society ($1K to $9,9) and Women United.
- Support Director of Major Gifts with regards to the Tocqueville Society, Major Gifts and special projects
- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
- Develop and execute leadership giving budget based on set criteria.
Educational Background:
Bachelor‘s degree in Business, Human Service, Communication or related field.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of fundraising experience.
- Direct experience in the following is required: Major gifts, project management and event fundraising.
- Relationship building and major donor relationship or comparable high-level account management.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office applications and donor management database systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to relate with diverse group of individuals (e.g. executives, high net worth individuals and community leaders).
