Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 depending on location and experience

Hours: Full-time

Role Overview

No Means No Worldwide (NMNW) is looking for an experienced nonprofit leader who can continue to build and oversee our systems, policies, and strategic management functions to ensure that we operate efficiently while ensuring that we are fiscally and legally responsible and maintain our healthy organizational culture as we continue to scale. The successful candidate will have a broad set of skills and experience in managing complex multi-donor international nonprofit organization(s) and projects, and particular expertise in financial management and oversight.

Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a core member of the leadership team, the Director of Operations and Finance will design and oversee all operational and financial systems and staff working in those areas of the organization. They will work closely with all staff to address organizational development challenges and build the organization’s infrastructure as we continue to scale globally. They will listen to and understand the needs of our employees and ensure that they have the systems, policies, and support that they need to remain safe and happy as they carry out their work worldwide. They will provide high level oversight and technical support for our financial management team by overseeing budgeting, accounting, audit, payroll, benefits, tax and legal registration.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Financial Leadership and Accountability

  • Manage the Finance and Grants Manager and Bookkeeper.

  • Engage with external vendors as needed for accounting and payroll.

  • Ensure that NMNW follows rules and requirements for grant tracking and reporting.

  • Ensure NMNW is compliant with all internal and external financial policies, including following all U.S. Government rules and regulations.

  • Work with the Director of Programs to ensure that donor reporting is carried out in a timely way, and projects are managed and staffed based on agreed upon budgets and contracts.

  • Manage the annual audit process and work with auditors to assess the financial health of the organization, prepare tax forms, and produce annual financial statements.

  • Track, analyze, and clearly present NMNW’s financial status to staff and the Board of Directors (budget vs. actual, balance sheets, etc.).

General Operations and Organizational Development

  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are up to date and in line with best practice.

  • Support the Executive Director to manage communication, administration, and outreach with the Board of Directors.

  • Contribute to the development and presentation of the NMNW strategic plan and serve as a thought leader within the organization.

  • Manage Administrative staff to ensure that NMNW utilizes efficient and compliant systems for filing, internal communications, travel, and project management.

  • Carry out organizational capacity assessments and track NMNW’s progress against benchmarked standards of quality.

Human Resources Support

  • Support the design of the organizational staff and reporting structure that promotes efficiency, accountability, and equity.

  • Ensure staff are familiar with and follow designated policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all staff have appropriate work contracts and agreements.

  • Support the development of culture building and promote the wellness and safety of all staff with a specific focus on promoting NMNW’s core values and fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

  • Work with the finance team and outside vendors to ensure that staff benefits, taxes, and registrations are completed.

  • Serve as a leader and mentor for junior staff and support their personal and professional growth within the organization.

Skills/Experience: 

Required

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in senior nonprofit management, preferably within an international development context.

  • Proven track record in managing and overseeing complex multi-donor projects and budgets.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to train others.

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships with employees, with cross-cultural communication skills and savvy.

  • Computer skills: must have strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Dropbox, Google Drive, Gmail, Slack.

  • Commitment to NMNW values and a desire to promote our mission of ending sexual violence.

Preferred

  • Experience with managing U.S. Government funding (e.g. USAID, CDC) and familiarity with specific compliance issues.

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or other relevant qualification (e.g. CPA).

  • Language skills beyond English.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 depending on location and experience

NMNW is an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to end sexual and gender-based violence against women and children globally. NMNW trains instructors in high-risk environments to deliver the proven No Means No curricula to youth ages 10-20. The program teaches youth skills to recognize violence, understand issues of boundaries and consent, and embrace and stand in their own power.

NMNW has experienced exponential growth over the past 4 years—expanding from 1 staff member in mid-2018 to more than 35 people working from 9 different countries, a budget of ~$3.5Million, and more than 80 partners working in 10 different countries that will deliver No Means No to ~400,000 children in 2023.
