Under the direction of Office of Sponsored Program leadership, the Grant Manager assists with development of sponsored program proposals (including federal, state, and foundation grants as well as other restricted funding proposals) from proposal development through receipt of award, project implementation and closeout. Advises and assists in assembling grant proposals, which includes budget preparation and submission and provides post-award management support for awarded grants and contracts. Serves as a point of contact with finance, legal, and project staff during the proposal development, submission and post-award stages in order to ensure compliance with March of Dimes, local, federal, and sponsoring organization’s policies and procedures.
- Provide pre-award support to project directors and staff throughout prospecting and proposal development process for assigned sponsored program applications and restricted contracts. Work with staff to, interpret sponsor guidelines and restrictions, guide development and clearance of proposals and budgets in accordance with MOD policies, federal regulations and donor guidelines.
- Responsible for post-award administrative and non-financial management of restricted awards and contracts. Coordinate project setup, subcontract development, progress reports, sub-recipient monitoring. Partner with project and finance teams to ensure project budget and expenditures are in compliance with donor guidelines, federal regulations such as Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, and institutional policies. Manage administrative aspects of large collaborative grants and serve as main liaison between project team and sponsored program office.
- Perform other basic pre- and post-award duties as assigned by supervisor and internal procedures.
- Track grant activity and maintain database through Amplifund. Prepare activity reports for management as necessary.
- 5-7 years experience
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of pre-award and post-award procedures and requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of program prospecting procedures and requirements
- Understanding of Uniform Guidance, 2 CFR 200, related to Federal funding
- Highly proficient skills in Microsoft Office are required
- Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) or CRA (Certified Research Administrator) is recommended
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple projects and deadlines and ability to mulit-task
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
