Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a highly responsible and professional SHOP Grant Officer. This position provides program support to 50 - 60 federal Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP) affiliates, and report to the SHOP Funds Supervisor. The SHOP program transfers approximately $2 - $4 million annually to Habitat affiliates to assist with land acquisition and infrastructure development.
This position will be based at our operational headquarters located in Americus, Georgia, and requires some occasional travel and participation in workshops/conferences.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Monitor affiliate compliance with specified programmatic and federal benchmarks & requirements, including reviewing affiliate monthly progress reports, and assist affiliates with creating an action plan to resolve challenges.
- Monitor affiliates' compliance with NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) regulations pertaining to the SHOP grant.
- Prepare SHOP award packets to affiliates, including ascertaining contractual needs, issuing contracts and loan documents, & reviewing them for accuracy.
- Review, process & tabulate award amendments and bi-weekly draw requests.
- Participate in the updating of the annual affiliate SHOP survey and annual affiliate SHOP application, to include review and evaluate of affiliate applications.
- Maintain electronic files in MS ACCESS/Web grants database and paper files according to federal OMB A-133 audit standards.
- Review and update policy and procedures manual.
Educational Background:
Associate's degree.
Skills/Experience:
- 1-2 years related work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for daily interaction with affiliates, field staff, local governments and HUD representatives.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs & MS Access database.
- Experience with grants management & government contracts.
- Ability to implement complex federal Regulations.

Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
