Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented professional for the role of Direct Marketing Specialist.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Donor Development, the Direct Marketing Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Direct Marketing unit to drive unrestricted revenue as well as a limited amount of restricted revenue. The Specialist will work in three key areas -- Donor Development, Analytics, and Database Operations -- as well as other special projects outside of the normal course of business of the various DM depts. ranging from strategic fundraising projects to technical and/or reporting projects. The key to success in this position includes developing and delivering projects to enhance the fundraising capacity and increase efficiencies within the DM unit. Other responsibilities of this position include: maintaining data hygiene and integrity, ensuring quality control, reporting and analytics, documenting and streamlining DM business processes, production management and creative processing, and assisting with the stabilization and future development of the CRM and marketing database systems.

Position can be based in either of our headquarters offices in Atlanta, GA or Americus, GA, and requires up to 5% domestic travel.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide support to Sr. Director, Donor Development and Director, New Donor Acquisition with production and implementation of solicitation and cultivation efforts, and quality control of campaign segmentation.
  • Assist Director, Direct Marketing Operations with maintaining data hygiene and integrity for the database systems, data file pulls, establishment of source codes, data queries and update of donor activity.
  • Collaborate with DM staff, and other HFHI depts., on the stabilization and future development of the CRM and marketing database systems.
  • Work with Associate Director, Direct Marketing Analytics on the implementation of analytics, reporting and marketing automation tools in the CRM and marketing database systems to help drive optimal fundraising results.
  • Maintain direct marketing schedules, seed list, creative mandatories, and sample books; handle PO box renewals; coordinate processing of list rental/exchange requirements; and approve live samples.
  • Special Projects as assigned to enhance Direct Marketing's fundraising capacity and increase efficiencies.
  • Other relate duties as assigned by supervisor.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3 years related work experience.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising and direct marketing.
  • Experience collaborating with others in a complex, matrix-structured, multinational, dynamic organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience creating reports.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, with excellent listening skills.
  • Passion for and commitment to the HFH mission.
  • Strong technology skills and experience that ideally includes an understanding of: large-scale database management; nonprofit constituent relationship management systems; and web-application development processes.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial and creative approach to problem-solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities and trends.
  • Individual with high energy level, self-confidence and a positive “can-do” attitude are essential.
  • Individual of unquestionable integrity whose professional and personal conduct reflect HFH’s values.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Office and computer equipment skills (internet, Excel, email, electronic calendar, word processing, electronic forms, Microsoft Environment) are required.
