Lead a regional attendance campaign to reduce chronic absence to advance grade level reading goals. Lead systems change strategy development and capacity building of a Rural Education agenda that advances grade level reading.
- Lead and effectively manage the Challenge Five Attendance Awareness initiative including committee and working groups (25% of time)
- Develop, document, implement and replicate solid attendance strategies, such as attendance ambassador and success mentors across the LV (10% of time)
- Collect, analyze, monitor, report and use attendance and chronic absence data in order to inform strategic decision making and continuous improvement (3% of time)
- Support current rural education initiative in Bangor (5% of time)
- Develop a more robust rural education platform that includes Carbon County school districts and partners (25% of time)
- Monitor & build capacity with partner investments in Rural Education (10% of time)
- Supervise VISTAs / Interns (5% of time)
- Generate content for attendance and rural education work for marketing (3% of time)
Each of the above accountabilities require solid relationship management, community outreach and engagement, collaborative relationship building with providers and school districts, survey design, data collection and analysis, strong meeting facilitation, project management skills, content support for marketing, support of sponsorships, donations and grants and an ability to keep track of new research and best practices from the field, coordination and provision of trainings to advance the work and strengthen the field. All of these pieces shall be performed through the lens of collective impact leadership.
- 5-plus years of professional work experience in a range of the following: education, education administration, organizing community change, public policy, or social services. Relevant experience in the public sector, for-profit sector or a related education considered in lieu of work experience.
