The Summer Associates will serve full-time, five days a week for 10 weeks over the summer delivering the 2019 Lehigh Valley Summer Meals Program. There are 11 assignments available at sites all over Lehigh and Northampton counties in PA!
This is a full-time assignment Monday – Friday starting on June 10, 2019 and completing on August 16, 2019. AmeriCorps VISTAs must be able to serve for the full 10 weeks.
Areas of Responsibility:
The assignment provides the opportunity to support our communities by:
- Coordinating and delivering free summer meals to youth
- Providing fun and enriching activities for youth (arts, STEM, sports, etc.)
- Coordinating weekly or monthly fun family engagement opportunities (Examples: Family Story Time, Movie Night, etc.)
- Assisting with recruitment of youth and families by connecting with local business and partners
- Collecting and analyzing program data (attendance, meals provided, donations collected, volunteers recruited, etc.)
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- At least 1-year (24 credits or equivalent) college experience or combined volunteer experience
- Experience with youth programming and Spanish speaking is helpful
- Reliable Transportation (must have access to a vehicle to have the ability to transport lunches and supplies)
Compensation/Benefits:
