The Project Manager, Marketing is responsible for leading core project management activities including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring & control and project closing across all projects under management. The Project Manager, Marketing will serve as the Marketing lead for cross-functional project teams and oversee successful execution of Marketing sub-project deliverables spanning UWW’s Creative Services, Segment Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications (Internal, External, Stakeholder, Network, PR) and Digital/Social Media. The Project Manager, Marketing will also lead independent projects on behalf of the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Management and the Chief Marketing Officer, on an as-needed basis.
The Project Manager, Marketing will report to the Vice President, Marketing & Brand Management and forge strong working relationships across the Marketing Group and with internal clients, to facilitate project delivery that is consistently on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
- Independently lead project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring & control and project closing across all projects under management.
- Ensure project delivery that is consistently on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
- Optimize, institutionalize and drive continuous improvement of an effective project management system- including cross-functional standard operating procedures - spanning all project phases, from project initiation through project closing.
- Ensure proactive and consistent communication across all project teams to maximize efficiencies and mitigate risk.
- Other duties as assigned, including communications support (e.g., technical assistance with presentations, executive communications, speeches, etc.)
- At least three to five years of progressive experience in a similar role; marketing project management experience strongly preferred.
- Superb project management skills, with a proven track record of consistently leading projects that are delivered on time, within budget and with a high level of quality.
- Demonstrated relationship management expertise, preferably in a large decentralized, matrix organization required; private sector experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in Smartsheet (or equivalent software application)
- PMI certification (PMP® or CAPM®)
- Ability to work autonomously with a minimal amount of supervision, and to excel in an entrepreneurial, self-starting and fast paced environment.
