Join us to lead, design and build the next generation digital engagement platform for United Way World Wide to transform our business and drive donor engagement, acquisition and retention. The primary function of the Technical Project Manager is to manage and track the development of our digital engagement platform which will transform digital fundraising across the United Way network. You will run meetings with a network of affiliates, vendors, and partners and ensure everyone has a clear understanding of our project timeline while driving a distributed team to deliver results. You will work closely with Product Managers and a governance team to ensure our requirements are met and roadblocks are cleared. To succeed in this role we expect you to have breadth of skills when it comes to managing software and technology projects and demonstrated experience bringing large-scale global technology projects to market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Acts as production lead for team of digital experts building our next generation digital engagement platform.
  • Manage project team resources through creation of detailed and accurate project descriptions, estimates, functional and technical specifications, schedules, timelines and written status reports throughout a digital project lifecycle
  • Document all aspects of project development and evolution through concise meeting notes, action items, task management and eliminate barriers in completion of projects
  • Create and manage project plans, roadmaps, backlogs and be responsible for seeing through task execution
  • Provide weekly status reports, project tracking updates and overall assessments to team and Stakeholders
  • Works with the Director of Operations to manage resources for the project, including utilization of team resources, forecasting and budget management
  • Manages scope, including identifying issues and working with the resources and client on resolution plans
  • Must be able to multitask and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • May be required to occasionally work hours outside of the normal 40-hour workweek including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Occasional travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years project management experience within a software development and delivery environment
  • Excellent organization, communication, and motivational skills with an attention to detail
  • A self-starter attitude; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively and ability to interact with people at all levels within the organization
  • Client-facing experience
  • Mastery of traditional PM process
  • Agile methodology experience preferred
