The manager will play a critical role on the 2-1-1 team at United Way Worldwide by providing operational support for all strategic, revenue-generating, and technical projects and initiatives.

In particular, the manager will be responsible for streamlining and successfully managing all team grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards for internal and external stakeholders and managing all tracking and reporting requirements.

The manager will also develop and manage a support infrastructure for the 2-1-1 network including regular communications, technical assistance, information sharing, and creating tools to enable 2-1-1 success.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage all team administrative processes.
  • Create and execute a process for managing grants and contracts, ensuring compliance, completion of deliverables, and subcontractor and subgrantee engagement as well as contract fulfillment.
  • Identify and support any efforts related to national contract, grant, and funding projects and opportunities, including compiling information and producing written content for applications and proposals.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive network communications and information-sharing strategy, including development of tools and other resources for use by 2-1-1s.
  • Develop and execute on a strategy for regularly obtaining, analyzing, and producing reports related to network-wide operational data (quality assurance, performance indicators, finances, etc.)
  • Support government relations strategies to promote and advance 2-1-1 as a key strategic asset with federal and state agencies, as well as national and regional non-profit agencies and corporate partners.
  • Support overall strategies and specific projects to further integrate 2-1-1 with Impact and Investor Relations work.
  • Provide administrative support and coordination for the 2-1-1 National Operating Group.
  • Assist the Director in coordinating disaster related support to the United Way and 2-1-1 networks by ensuring 2-1-1 is operational and supporting the activation of any national-level response resources.
  • Manage and support learning opportunities (i.e., webinars, online collaboration, conference planning, etc.).
  • Support and back up other team members as required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Strong passion for the work of the United Way and 2-1-1 network and for serving individuals and communities
  • At least 3-5 years experience in a professional setting
  • At least 1-3 years experience successfully managing complex administrative and business processes and tasks, preferably in a non-profit or government agency
  • Experience with government contracts and grants; experience with federal contracts a plus
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated relationship management expertise
  • Ability to work and lead autonomously with minimal supervision and to excel in an entrepreneurial, self-starting and fast paced environment
  • Experience with health and human services I&R database management a plus.
  • Experience in managing nonprofit development training & learning programs a plus.
  • Experience using Salesforce a plus.
