Under the direction of the Mission: Graduate Executive Director, the College and Career Readiness Manager will oversee and coordinate the work of assigned projects within Mission: Graduate. In addition, the CCR Manager will contribute to the development of a project plan and facilitate the work within each project.  The CCR Manager may supervise volunteers and temporary or other staff assigned to individual projects. 

Mission: Graduate is a cradle to career education partnership working with actively engaged community members across the education continuum to improve education outcomes in our community. 

Projects are identified by collaborative teams through a thoughtful analysis of factors that impact college and career readiness in central New Mexico. As projects are time limited, the scope of work for the CCR Manager will change as some projects complete and new projects begin.  Project assignments will progress based on developing needs in the community toward achieving Mission: Graduate’s goals. The CCR Manager will coordinate with other Mission: Graduate and United Way staff as needed. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Project Management 

  • Facilitate initial start-up and team member recruitment and retention for project teams as necessary. 
  • Oversee all logistics and perform all necessary duties for the development and implementation of each project plan, consulting with others as appropriate.  
  • Facilitate team discussion in development, refinement, and updating of each project plan. 
  • Work with Director of Continuous Improvement or assigned data manager on performance measures and evaluation process for each project plan. 
  • Include Director of Continuous Improvement in ongoing work updates for data collection purposes. 
  • Facilitate strategic team meetings, develop agendas, take notes as necessary, and oversee tasks and next steps for ongoing work. 
  • Monitor work progress through Basecamp (an online project management resource) and check in with team members on task completion 
  • Perform necessary community outreach related to each project. 
  • Maintain all website related updates, including continuous contact with Communications Manager on upcoming events and developments. Develop talking points for each project. 
  • Meet regularly with Director of Collective Impact to update and debrief on each project. 
  • Represent Mission: Graduate at events and community meetings.  
  • Engage other Mission: Graduate staff at appropriate times to support making timely progress of the work goals against schedule. 
  • Manage AmeriCorps Public Ally Volunteer(s). 
  • Manage core relationships within the CCR work, including school partnerships and ABC Community Schools. 

College and Career Readiness Focus Areas 

  • Serve as the primary staff lead for all College and Career Readiness strategies, including overseeing the growth of Mission: Graduate’s career exploration demonstration project. 
  • Maintain relationships with K-12 education, higher education, and business partners, including establishing communication and networks to ensure project continuity when there is staff turnover in partner organizations. 
  • Facilitate meetings with community-based organizations as needed to further the work. 
  • Work with the Director of Continuous Improvement to produce reports on project progress and outcomes for Mission: Graduate staff and partners as delineated in each project plan. 
  • Keep updated on recent research in college and career readiness as it pertains to Mission: Graduate’s work, including research on best practices, policy, and successful examples of community-based change from other communities. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two or more years of project management experience. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Effective facilitation skills 
  • Self-starter, flexible to respond to emerging needs, highly motivated, and happy to work with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service.   
  • Supervisory skills. 
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral). 
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with Mission: Graduate partners and key stakeholders. 
  • Effective project management skills, including the ability to develop clear project plans and timelines, communicate with project partners & stakeholders, and monitor progress to meet agreed deadlines. 
  • Technology proficient, especially in designing and producing work products and plans and utilizing data systems to track progress. 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals. 
  • Basic graphic design skills. 
  • Experience facilitating working groups. 
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products. 
  • Must be able to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends to attend a variety of events.  
  • Must possess a valid New Mexico driver’s license and have daily access to a dependable motor vehicle with insurance. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience working in a community outreach and/or engagemencapacity. 
  • Experience utilizing continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes and methodology.
