Coordinator, Family Services, I Promise School

The purpose of this position is to assist students and families in designated school(s) by developing and coordinating a comprehensive set of wraparound services, and coordinating all direct service referrals and follow-ups for families to align with United Way of Summit County’s Bold Goals for education.  Position reports to the Director of Education at United Way of Summit County.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work with school administrators, staff, students and families to develop a comprehensive and strategic set of wraparound services for families. Create referral system and procedures to be utilized between families, staff and service providers. 50%
  • Work with school administrators, staff, students and families to develop individual comprehensive I Promise Family Care Plans for all students.  Oversee service coordination for families to help them carry out plans. 30%
  • Oversee and coordinate volunteer activities by acting as liaison between community agencies, partners and staff. Train volunteers prior to assignments and act as resource person. 10%
  • Track measurable outcomes and provide reports as needed. 10%
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field.
Skills/Experience: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years experience working with students in a school or mental health setting.
  • Small and large group work experience.
  • Commitment to excellence and passion for the mission of United Way of Summit County.
  • Commitment to the Lebron James Family Foundation I Promise philosophy.
  • Competent in MS Office products.
  • Interest in the improvement of the Summit County community.

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position is primarily a normal office setting, requiring long periods of sedentary work at a desk and computer.
  • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office, walking, climbing stairs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop.
  • Extensive reading.
  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be willing to work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours on occasion.
  • After-hours event attendance occasionally.
  • Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Valid driver license and proof of insurance.
  • Access to reliable insured automobile to be used for work-related travel in summit County area.
