POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual, corporate and foundation gifts for ESNT. This is a position whose primary role is to grow and manage our development efforts. The ability to communicate the vision of the organization in a bold, passionate, and compelling manner in the North Texas community is critical to success. The position requires an understanding and belief in philanthropy, the ability to manage and motivate, as well as a track record of securing gifts of $1,000 to $50,000 from individuals, corporations, and foundations. This position is responsible for all special events of ESNT, as well as the relationship with Easterseals headquarters in these areas.
As a member of the management team, this position is also responsible for helping shape and lead the organization’s future.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Be at work on time and ready to start work.
- Regular attendance required during regular business hours; is subject to supervision during working hours; requires interaction with coworkers and supervisors.
- Participates in Easterseals North Texas meetings as required and appropriate.
- Knows and abides by Easterseals North Texas policies and procedures.
- Promotes a unified, team-oriented atmosphere in all communications and actions.
- Is professional in appearance and demeanor.
- Communicate Easterseals’ vision, mission, and values to our publics.
- Raise funds based on annual budget goals.
- Create infrastructure for the development department.
- Develop relationships with current and future donors which include individuals, corporations, foundations, and board members. Develop comprehensive development strategies.
- Be extremely visible in the North Texas community.
- Manage database processes and internal reporting protocols to ensure meaningful and accurate donor identification, prospect management, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Responsible for all development reporting to Easterseals headquarters.
- Work closely with Easterseals headquarters in all development endeavors.
- Supervise and hire staff to reach departmental objectives; including setting realistic goals, motivating, evaluating, and developing staff and measuring milestones.
- Responsible for all special events.
- Responsible for volunteer recruitment for special events.
- Responsible for processing and recording all donations, including thank you notes.
- Provide educational/informational materials to potential donors and prepare required reports for executive management and the governing board.
- Responsible for all Abila Fundraising reporting including monthly reports.
- Identify and cultivate relationships for future volunteer leadership.
- Help set and meet all fundraising goals.
- Serve as an integral member of the management team involved in creating, communicating, and contributing to the strategic implementation of the vision and mission of Easterseals.
- Integrate the entire management team into the organization’s comprehensive development process.
- Grant Management except for HHSC, WIPA and United Way grants:
i. Researches grant opportunities relevant to program and organizational needs.
ii. Meets with prospective funders to develop relationships.
iii. Writes, coordinates and prepares grant applications and proposals in accordance with requirements of the funder.
iv. Works closely with various agency staff to gather information needed to complete proposals.
v. Manages prospective funder information and ongoing grant calendar in an organized manner.
vi. Tracks awarded funds and coordinates the submission of required reports to funders.

Work experience: Prefer 5 years of working for a nonprofit in the management of the development area
Knowledge: Familiar with generally accepted fundraising principles; familiar with philanthropic giving principles
Skills/Abilities: MUST have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to proficiently use Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. Must have some knowledge of use of Microsoft Excel and Publisher.
Physical limitations: Job requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting (up to 35 lbs.).
