The Health Impact Coordinator will play a key system leadership role on the Ogden United initiative team and will work in conjunction with the Weber Human Services prevention team to significantly improve the health outcomes of children, youth, and families in Ogden. The Coordinator acts strategically to create and execute the coordination and alignment of partnerships within health prevention to achieve desired population outcomes. Additionally, the Coordinator serves as liaison for sustained partners who have been identified to support this work. We seek a knowledgeable, energetic, and dynamic team member to direct the continued development of our health prevention work within the cradle to career pathway.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Impact Committee Development, Co-Facilitation, and Community EngagementAct as the ‘backbone staff’ for the work of a local coalition and coalition workgroups/committees by providing daily oversight for planning, organizing, and building community support which promotes and develops the concept of prevention science.
  • Will also include community presentations with the creation and coordination of technical materials for such presentations.
  • Will utilize a minimum of two coaching sessions per month with the Prevention Regional Director for Northern Utah to enhance efficacy to an evidence-based coalition model.
  • Serve as a visible community leader through regular interactions with key community leaders, agencies, an extensive volunteer base, and other stakeholders to facilitate system change through meaningful action. Recruit, orient and engage committee members.
  • Work with the chair of the health coalition workgroup to facilitate meetings and guide coalition members/community partners in generative conversation to align services, develop and implement new strategies, identify needed system change, policy action, etc.
  • Help communicate coalition and coalition workgroups/committees efforts up to the United Partnership Council (local leadership body) and Promise Partnership Regional Council (regional leadership body)

Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Ensure the coalition members and work groups/committees are identifying and working toward shared short- and long-term outcomes through agreed upon goals and objectives. Update the coalition and work groups/committees action plans at least annually. Work with partners to facilitate action between meetings.
  • Direct and support the implementation of community level strategies that are research- and evidence-based to improve the outcomes of children and youth.
  • May include conducting research to inform the work. This will be done in coordination with community partners and United Way’s Research and Evaluation staff.
  • Facilitate and guide coalition members to work alongside United Way’s Research and Evaluation team to develop and implement data-driven processes and systems to inform the work.

Partnership Manager

  • Serve as key point of contact and liaison with strategic partnerships and partner agency Directors/Managers on matters related to Ogden United.
  • Work in collaboration with other team members to strengthen new partnerships with additional stakeholders such as businesses, non-profit organizations, and public programs.

Other Duties

  • Attend other local, regional and state level meetings and/or trainings as requested.
  • Participate in meetings related to fundraising and sustainability of the initiative with corporate, foundation, and government representatives as well as individual donors.
  • Marketing support for committees’ work.
  • Record keeping and organization.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in public health, human services or related field
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience facilitating multi-stakeholder meetings
  • Experience working on grant funded projects
  • Familiarity with program assessment and evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple institutions
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain outcome-driven programs
  • High standards of professional ethics and conduct
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet and Google
  • Independent worker and team player
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Master’s degree in public health, public administration or related field
  • Three to five years working in health services or related field
  • Experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Experience in program design and implementation with a demonstrated track record of successful results for programs
  • Familiarity and history of service within the landscape of education, health, community development and social services networks
  • Experience and understanding of substance use prevention science and community based prevention
  • Experience with the Communities That Care Coalition model
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
