Community Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for managing customer relationships and providing daily customer service and education support for our clientele, with United Way agencies and their representatives being primary customers.  Community Partnerships Coordinator will serve as primary contact for all agencies in hub responsible for overseeing and conducting 2-1-1 outreach, information and training sessions at agencies, pertinent meetings, networking events and resource fairs with 50 or more attendees.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Within the assigned hub of 2-1-1 service area, responsible for identifying all nonprofit, government, faith-based and voluntary health and human service organizations, programs and services.  Using interviews and surveys, compiles profiles of each organization and enters it into the 2-1-1 database following established protocols
  • Conduct new agency outreach and acquisition, including IRS 501© review.  May involve calling or visiting new agencies to review paperwork and 2-1-1 services.  Ensure all new agencies information is entered into the database in a timely manner
  • Serves as primary contact for all assigned agencies in hub and maintain relationships with those agencies promoting credibility and trust in 2-1-1-.  Also, responsible for interim updates initiated by the agencies and questions about 2-1-1, database, calls, etc.
  • Maintain an audit trail for each organization in your hub which shows a history of updates.
  • Gather current information about seasonal and other time-limited programs and enter into the 2-1-1 database
  • Provide backup assistance to Database Specialist completing annual agency updates and any database duties as assigned
  • Manage the customer relationship and providing daily customer service and education support for our customers with United Ways, agencies and agency representatives being primary customers
  • Oversee and conduct 2-1-1 outreach to all agencies in database through e-mail, newsletters, phone calls, etc.  Provide information and training sessions at agencies, pertinent meetings, networking events and resources fairs expecting 50 attendees or more
  • Look for opportunities to grow relationships and database; develop and present webinars and trainings to top referred to agencies, United Ways and focus groups
  • Be available after hours and on weekends during a disaster to attend events and meetings, assist answering the calls and/or move large amounts of data into the database.  Extended hours might be needed during times of disaster
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with Emergency Managers, PIO’s etc. before, during and after the disaster
  • Attend local disaster meetings in hub
  • Position requires ability to deploy to impacted hub in case of disaster

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Employee has responsibility for making decisions within the policy framework of the 2-1-1/Information and Referral Department and the United Way of Greater St. Louis.  This includes application of 2-1-1 Inclusion/Exclusion criterial to entries in the 2-1-1 database
  • Individual Annual Work Plans are developed in coordination with supervisor and Community Partnership team
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in social work or similarly relevant field strongly preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Access or another relational database software package; proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Understanding of hierarchical classification schemes (such as AIRS, UWASIS or the Dewey Decimal System.)
  • Familiarity with health and human service delivery system
  • Must have knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work
  • Must have high level of attention to detail; concern for accuracy
  • Self-starter; demonstrated ability to work independently and within teams, meet deadlines and manage projects effectively
  • Positive commitment and ability to work with internal and external customers in a friendly, cooperative, and professional manner
  • Flexibility and willingness to embrace change
  • Must successfully complete AIRS Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) exam within 24 months of employment.
  • Contribute to the overall success of United Way by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned   

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Traditional office work environment
  • Travel:  Less than 40%, primarily to regional offices, as needed
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation or access to reliable and available transportation to local travel less than 50 miles one way. Longer trips and out of town or overnight will be supported by rental car.
