The Assistive Technology Professional is a full-time position with great hours in a team oriented atmosphere. This position provides an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by ensuring access to equipment that directly impacts their independence.
Areas of Responsibility:
- The Assistive Technology Professional position requires a friendly and motivated individual who wants to grow with us, as we continually provide more complex rehabilitation services to the community.
- The Assistive Technology Professional will evaluate an individual’s needs for assistive technology and or power mobility, secure funding, as well as deliver and make adjustments to equipment. A background in seating and mobility is preferred, but not required.
Educational Background:
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program with NBCOT certification and Indiana License OR
Skills/Experience:
- Assistive Technology Professional certification OR
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an AOTA accredited program with NBCOT certification and Indiana License OR
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and valid car insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. on an occasional basis and 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to assist clients in activities including kneeling, crouching, reaching and bending.
- Ability to lift and transfer, with assistance, individuals who weigh up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to push large adults in wheelchairs.
