The primary function of the Lead Staff is to support the mission, vision and values of Easterseals Capper Foundation by exhibiting the following behaviors: ability and commitment to identify strengths, genuine respect for diverse perspectives and life styles, a capacity to listen and reflect, skill and creativity to help people become more aware and confident of their own abilities, help individuals and/or groups assume decision-making and action, knowledge of resources to access information and ability to reflect and criticize ongoing process, including one’s own role in those processes.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responds appropriately to the needs, desires and interests of the persons supported.
- Supports staff in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Matches specific supports and interventions to the unique needs of individuals supported.
- Understands crisis intervention and resolution techniques and use such techniques as identified for persons supported. Guide Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in using approved techniques.
- Identifies and understands Medication Administration Sheets (MAR).
- Checks medications against the MAR and ensures appropriate medications have been administered.
- Provides a written report to residential supervisors and management staff at the conclusion of each shift.
- Supports the mission and practices of Easterseals Capper Foundation and participates in organizational activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Skills/Experience:
- Required to read, write and speak fluent English
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in health and/or human services field
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures
- Must have a valid Kansas Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
