Candidates with experience and interest in research and communications, event management, volunteer and employee engagement and an interest in pursuing a career in nonprofit and volunteer management are strongly encouraged to apply.
- The Economic Mobility VISTA will help build and enhance United Way’s efforts to increase access to financial literacy and job placement programs for economically disadvantaged individuals. They will accomplish this by evaluating the effectiveness of such programs from across the country and recommend promotion strategies that engage volunteers in this work.
- Promotion strategies include (but are not limited to) producing online guides, hosting webinars, building toolkits, organizing conference calls, and drafting blogs for United Way staff around the globe that engage volunteers.
- The VISTA Member will also plan, execute, and increase engagement in episodic and signature volunteer events that create a greater awareness in the community about the struggles of people living in poverty and how individuals can help address those challenges through service and philanthropy.
